Accessibility Statement
This statement was last updated on September 5, 2026.
Micaela F. Lipman is a disabled scholar navigating multiple chronic illnesses.
I am deeply committed to growing networks of crip care where we are all able to lovingly and generously show up for one another's shifting needs.
While my disabilities are dynamic and therefore may shift over time, some things that help me in my work include:
1. Allowing for ample response time as I may be unable to respond to requests within the same day. Please include any urgent deadlines in email subject lines so that I can prioritize accordingly.
2. Clearly establishing expectations for each meeting so that I may prepare in advance.
3. Minimizing ambient conversations during times of deep focus.
4. Relying on calendar invitations.
5. Prioritizing email communication for work needs. My personal phone is often silenced to reduce distractions and I am not often easily reached via the phone outside of work hours.
6. Minimizing walking distances to 1.5 km, limiting lifting to 25 lbs, and limiting stairs to two flights.

Accessibility Arrangements
Micaela F. Lipman's physical office space at the University at Buffalo is easily accessed via the University at Buffalo's disabled parking spots found either outside the Psychological Services Center off of Flint Road, or along Park Hall off of Mary Talbert Way. All public buses and UB stampede busses with access to the University at Buffalo's North Campus are wheelchair accessible with lifts or ramps and kneeling features.
The individual office assigned to Lipman via the University at Buffalo is largely inaccessible. There are fluorescent lights, turning door handles, and a lack of sufficient wheelchair turning radius among other barriers. Please notify Lipman in advance of visiting the University at Buffalo of any accommodations which would make our time together more comfortable for you. She will then secure an alternate meeting room nearby. Lipman's office is on the first floor and does not require the use of stairs. Alternate meeting rooms may be accessed via elevators. though it has fluorescent lighting.
If meeting digitally, Lipman will provide a Zoom link with automatic captioning and transcription generation options, adjustable font sizes, and screen reader capabilities.
If any additional accessibility accommodations would support your ability to join me in authentic collaboration, please don't hesitate to ask and we will navigate next steps together.
